See how each essay was written, not only what it says.

Live In use today.

Students write their assignments in the Editorrah editor. Teachers see how much was typed and how much was pasted, can replay the writing, and see whether it matches the student's own style. Each signal is shown on its own, and the teacher makes the call.

    Session playback

Replay the essay being written, from the first word to the last: the typing, the pastes and the deletions. Play it at up to ten times speed, or with the real pauses. Every paste is marked on the timeline, so you can jump straight to it.

    Writing-style match

Stylometry compares the writing with the student's own. At the start of a class, each student writes three short pieces in the editor with pasting turned off. That becomes their writing profile. Each essay is compared with it, section by section, so a passage that does not read like the student stands out.

The whole essay gets one of four results: Match, Needs review, Inconclusive or Flagged.

    Flags in colour

The integrity report marks the essay itself, so you see where, not only a score. Text pasted from outside is highlighted in red. Outside text retyped by hand is highlighted in amber. A section flagged for AI-written content or a style mismatch is boxed, with its AI estimate and style result beside it.

No single check settles it on its own. Teachers see several side by side, and the teacher makes the call.

02What you get

What teachers and students get.

Editorrah is where students write and where teachers see how the writing happened. You choose which checks run on each assignment. None of them decides for you.

Set up a class

Classes with a join code
Create a class and share its code. Students join with it. You can edit the class, remove a student, or archive the class at the end of term.
Assignments with the checks you choose
Write the instructions, points, due date and late policy, then publish. For each assignment, choose which checks run.
Rubrics
Build a rubric by hand, paste one in, upload a file, or ask AI to draft one from the assignment for you to edit.

See how it was written

Typed and pasted
For work written in the Editorrah editor, see what share of the text was typed and what share was pasted, and each paste on its own.
AI-writing estimate
On by default, and you can switch it off for any assignment. You see a percentage estimate of how likely the text is AI-written, next to the other signals. It is one signal, not a verdict.
Similarity check
After the deadline, work is compared with classmates' work. You can also check a submission against public scholarly records and web search results. Matching passages are highlighted.

Decide and grade

A summary in plain words
When the writing-style match has a result, one tab answers in plain words: does this read like the student's own writing, was AI involved, and what should you do next, such as watch the replay and talk to the student. It recommends. You make the final call.
An integrity report
Work submitted from the editor comes with an integrity report. Open it, read it in the page, or print it.
Grading help
Grade against your rubric. If the assignment has a rubric, the app can suggest a grade and draft feedback for you to accept or change. When a signal is weak, it suggests no grade and asks you to review the work yourself.

What students see

Classes, due dates and grades
Students see their classes, what is due soon and their grades in one place.
Write and submit in the editor
The instructions, due date and rubric sit beside the page. Late work is marked late.
Feedback and their own replay
After grading, students see their grade, your feedback and the rubric breakdown. They can also replay their own writing session, which shows what they typed and what they pasted. By default, they do not see the style match, the AI-writing estimate, the similarity result or the integrity report.

Summary: This reads like the student's own writing. A recommendation to help you decide. You make the final call.

Sample. Illustrative data, not a real student or class.

One submission, as the teacher sees it.

Today the work is written in the Editorrah editor. The typing record and the replay cover only work written there.

03Why it matters

Universities were flooded with AI-written work. Detectors did not fix it.

Universities received a flood of AI-written work and answered with detectors. Detectors analyse finished text, misclassify non-native English writers, and collapse under appeal. Formal AI misconduct cases in UK universities tripled in one year, and those are only the proven ones.

Accounts and sign-in.

Teachers

Sign in with your email and password. The link opens the sign-in page with the Teacher tab chosen.

Students

Sign in with your email and password. New students create their own account and add the class code from their teacher, now or later from their dashboard.

New teachers

Teacher accounts open with an invitation code, so there is no open teacher sign-up. If your institution has not given you one, ask us.

Integrity offices and departments

To run Editorrah across a course, a department or a university, start with a pilot.

Who it is for

Integrity offices, deans and teachers. Their students sign in to write and submit.

05Questions

The questions we are asked first.

Do students have to write in the Editorrah editor?
Today, yes. The typing record and the replay exist only for work written there. Integration with Canvas, Moodle and Blackboard is on the Roadmap.
Is Editorrah an AI detector?
No. It records how the work was written. One optional signal is an AI-writing estimate, which the app labels AI detection. It is one signal among several, and you can switch it off for any assignment. The summary recommends. The teacher makes the final call. Why not a detector
Do students see these signals?
Not by default. Students see their work, their grade, your feedback and a replay of their own writing, including what they typed and pasted. They do not see the style match, the AI-writing estimate, the similarity result or the integrity report.
How does a teacher get an account?
Teacher accounts open with an invitation code. If your institution has not given you one, book a pilot and ask us for one.
Can we sign in with our university login?
Not today. Sign-in is by email and password.
